Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara is delighted to celebrate a major milestone in the journey towards a more skilled workforce in Europe: the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative, led by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), has successfully trained one million talents in deep tech.
As Pledgers of the Initiative, we are proud to have contributed to this achievement. With the support of more than 600 fellow Pledgers—and thanks to the EIT’s educational expertise, Europe-wide network, and funding—the Initiative is creating essential opportunities for developing deep tech skills.
The EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative currently features a catalogue of over 200 courses offered by Pledgers on fields such as Advanced Computing and Artificial Intelligence, all bearing the Initiative’s Quality Check seal. Training has taken place via training courses, but also through open innovation competitions, conferences, and bootcamps. Moreover, since 2023, women have represented 36% of all trained talents based on reported gender data, which contributes to a more inclusive workforce in Europe.
This collective effort to equip Europe’s workforce with cutting-edge skills reflects the strong commitment of the EIT to ensure that European industries remain at the forefront of global innovation, fostering an inclusive workforce, and strengthening Europe’s competitiveness.
